Our Roman Catholic School (established by the Sisters of Mercy) aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and with other people.
The school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our Catholic school provides Religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of the pupils in the Catholic Faith.
Vision
What we hope to achieve as we successfully fulfil our purpose or Mission
At Abbey Primary
We promote the academic, spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of all pupils in our school.
We aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and equip children with the key knowledge, understanding, skills and personal qualities that they will need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
We are a Catholic community that seeks to develop our faith in God.
As a staff we seek to support one another as we embark on future challenges and opportunities with excitement and confidence.
Mission
As a value-based school, we will nurture curiosity and creativity through an inspiring broad and engaging curriculum where learning is at the heart of all that we do.
We will teach our pupils to become resilient and self-assured, in a safe caring environment.
We will challenge and encourage everyone to become successful, responsible citizens for the future.
We will provide religious education for all pupils and promote a Catholic ethos while we warmly welcome children of all faiths and beliefs.
We will promote and strengthen links with home, parish and community recognising their Positive contribution in each child’s education and wellbeing.
