Boarding

Boarding at The Pet Social is a safe place for your pet to stay while you’re away

Boarding your dog at The Pet Social will be like a fun trip to overnight camp for your 4-legged friend. Our ultimate goal is to create a “home-away-from-home” atmosphere for your dog. Time away from mom and dad can be scary enough for dogs—not to mention being taken to a new place with strange smells and sounds. We want to make your dog’s time away from home as pleasant as possible—in fact, we want them to enjoy it when mom and dad leave town!

Our place is different, dogs do not stay in their kennels all day. Based on temperament & personality, boarders will hang out with the Pet Social Staff during the day, while being housed in a large 4x6 Kennel during nap time (as needed) and at night. While dogs are pack animals, they also like to have their own “den”– their own special place with their blanket, toy, etc. so they feel comfortable and safe.

All dogs must be up to date with their Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. These records can be uploaded onto the scheduling link or brought to The Pet Social when you drop off your pet.

For the safety of your pet and others please, NO aggressive dogs!

All pets must be free of all external parasites (ticks and fleas) at the time of admission. All pets with external parasites will be treated upon entry and charged $30 for this treatment. When a dog comes on the premises with fleas it can be harmful to our property and other guests. If we have to treat your dog, we then we have to treat the building and the grounds. This is to keep our other guests flea free.

A note about Kennel Cough

Kennel Cough is highly contagious and is spread rapidly from one dog to another. Dogs affected with kennel cough most commonly have a harsh, dry cough that is often followed by gagging and coughing up foamy mucus.

The vaccination, much like your flu shot, isn’t 100% effective. However, dogs who have been vaccinated for kennel cough usually develop a lighter case and symptoms last a shorter period of time.

The Pet Social requires every dog that enters the facility to be vaccinated for Kennel Cough, the vaccination is quick and easy, and for most cases is very effective.

Frequently Asked Questions

What am I required to bring?

Can I bring anything else?

Note: some dogs may chew bedding and toys while away from home.

Please label everything with their name.

What not to bring

Why can't I bring my dog's bed?

It is best to bring a blanket or other item that smells like home. Large Dog beds occasionally get wet or soiled and they are very difficult for us to wash and dry.

Why can't I bring my dog's bowls?

We provide stainless steel bowls for your pet.

Should I bring my dog's treats?

You can definitely bring your dog's favorite treats. We also have treats here that we give as well.

Will my dog be playing with other dogs?

For safety reasons, we do not bring dogs out to play with other dogs. If this is something you are interested in, consider bring your dog to Play Days. During boarding your dog will be out of his/her kennel multiple times a day for one on one human interaction and play. We have an indoor and outdoor play area as well as a sofa to cuddle on.

Can I come in for a tour to check out your facility?

Absolutely, just text us at the business number 260-286-0014 and we will set up a convenient time to look around.

Why do I need an appointment, aren't you there all day?

Not all of our staff is trained to do client check-ins and check-outs. Some employees just come in to feed, potty and play with your pets. With appointments, we can schedule the right staff at the right time. Also, we like to know when you are coming so we can get everything ready for you and your pet.

Does someone stay over night with the pets?

No one stays over night. We do have staff that stays late, and staff that comes in very early.

What if I need to cancel or make changes to my appointment?

Just let us know and we can cancel or make changes. The best way to reach us is to text us at our main number 260-286-0014 or reply to your confirmation email. Phone calls are hard for us in such a noisy environment.
