Our vision is simple: we aim to optimize human performance through expert coaching that is rooted in science and built on meaningful relationships. Here is how we bring that vision to life:
Expert Coaching: led by Coach Matthew Grigg—a former Division I hurdler and sprinter—our training approach is grounded in both academic knowledge and real-world experience. Coach Grigg offers extensive expertise in track and field, movement, and overall human health with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, minor in Strength and Conditioning, and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certification
Tailored Training Plans: every individual is unique. That is why Coach Grigg works closely with each athlete to design personalized training plans that align with specific goals, needs, and abilities
Relational Approach: training at SPEED is more than physical. It is about cultivating an environment where personhood comes before performance. We believe that true growth occurs when athletes understand that their self worth is not defined by ability, but by who they are. Expect encouragement, support, and a culture that truly values you
We are excited for an incredible summer of training in 2025! This year, athletes will have the opportunity to compete in AAU summer track & field meets under the all new SPEED Track & Field Club, alongside weekly small group training sessions.

SPEED – Sprints, Hurdles & Jumps (Ages 12-18+)
Size: 15 athlete cap/session
Location: Mountain Brook High School

Hurdles: 9–10 AM
Sprints: 10–11 AM
