In this project, I had to research and look for a media report of Information Security and look through the source. I took a cyber security training and as well earned a certificate.

Lessons Learned
I learned that in this assignment, it opened a whole perspective on how many cyber security attacks occur and how serious the issue of security has gotten within the last couple of years. I learned that not only are companies at risk, but millions of customers can be affected as well with these attacks.

This article shares an incident where M&S had personal customer data stolen by a hacker. M&S was hit with the cyber-attack 3 weeks ago and are still trying to get their services back up and running. They have also advised that customers reset their passwords. These can be prevented by tightening customer security and accounts and enabling two-factor authentication.

On April 29, 2024, Dell suffered a data breach that was reported to be linked to a threat actor named "Menelik" who was selling access to a database that contained 49 million customer records on a hacking forum, involved in the dark web. A data breach is when a individual get unauthorized access to information that is sensetive or confidential.
