PLASTIC ASSAULT NETWORK
A multi artist collaborative cyberpunk music project
Biography
Plastic Assault Network, also known as PAN, is a groundbreaking cyberpunk music project that brings together artists from three countries, eight cities, fifteen musicians, and three visual artists, all fueled by an endless well of creativity. Founded by singer-songwriter Robert Andrew Bowman and co-produced by Per-Anders Kurenbach, PAN is a vibrant collaboration that transcends geographical boundaries.
In the late 90s, Robert was inspired by iconic bands like Pig Face, Nine Inch Nails, and The Prodigy to create a collaborative project with his talented friends from various bands in Detroit. “There was never a good way or enough time to bring people together, and the technology wasn't there yet,” he reflects.
Fast forward to March 2020—amid the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and with advancements in technology, Robert finally brought his vision to life. With many musicians and friends out of work and unable to tour during the lockdown, Robert seized the moment to unite their creative energies. The availability of digital studios and easy data transfer made this collaboration possible.
He reached out to friends with a simple invitation: “Do you want to come out and play?” To his delight, thirteen musicians, along with a couple of visual artists and several studios from the USA, Germany, and Austria, enthusiastically joined the experiment. PAN launched its first release, PANdem(on)ic, on the full moon of October 2021, featuring 11 songs now available on YouTube and SoundCloud.
“This project started as a fun way to stay connected with everyone,” Robert shares. “I am honored and thrilled to have met such incredible individuals, and I’m ecstatic to have created magic with them. I only wish we all lived in the same city so I could perform live with them and have them over to hang out. I miss every single one of these mates!”

Thrill Ride will whip you around, throw you up, and bring you down. This song's lyrical content is fairly straight forward and is about how life is metaphorically like being stuck on a roller coaster. With the main focus on trying to achieve a higher place of existence but feeling like a twilight zone episode. Always trying a new ride but each time it is the same ride madness.
It's about the desire for some stability in life while trying to achieve it through a lifestyle that is not conducive for stability. Then realizing that and wanting to get on a different path AKA ride, yet never being able to achieve something better. Each new ride or attempt at first seems like it going to be different but then it turns into the same stupid ride.
At the same time life as represented by the music of the song is a one hell of an exciting fun ride! However, if one doesn't get a break and is stuck to long on the same tracks of life. It looses it's thrill and fun and becomes painful and distorted.
This EDM masterpiece was created by Robert Andrew Bowman AKA Mercury Mage and recreated by Eric Curry of Bahbiss Cobb ( https://bahbisscobb.bandcamp.com ), With the amazing live drums from Jörn Schwarzburger of Antitype ( https://antitype.net/ ) and Produced and engineered by Per-Anders Kurenbach ( Nine Circles, Pysche, and Dark State).
