General Rules and Regulations

• Silence and Discipline: All readers are required to maintain perfect silence and discipline in the library.

• Property Counter: Deposit personal belongings at the property counter.

• Library/Identity Card: The library card or identity card is compulsory for accessing library facilities. Library cards are not transferable.

• Entry Register: Users must enter their name and roll number in the register kept at the entrance.

• Book Borrowing: Students can borrow two books at a time for 10 days. Books may be renewed if not in demand or reserved by other readers.

• Lending Materials: Students can borrow textbooks, journals, and question paper sets for use in the reading room.

• Book Recall: The librarian can recall books on loan at any time.

• Overdue Charges: An overdue charge of Rs 2/- per book per day is levied.

• Lost Card Replacement: Lost cards can be replaced for a fee of Rs 20/-.

• Photocopy Service: Photocopy (Xerox) facility is available at Rs 1.00 per page.

• Printing Service: Printing is available at a nominal cost of Rs 3.00 per page. Downloading undesirable e-resources is strictly forbidden and is a punishable offense.

• Search Authorization: Library staff are authorized to search a reader if suspected.

• Book Replacement: If a book is lost or damaged, the user must replace it or pay the cost of replacement.

• No-Dues Certificate: Collect a no-dues certificate from the library before obtaining the admit card for examinations.

• Suggestion Box: A suggestion box is available in the library for constructive feedback.

• Food and Beverages: Beverages and eatables are not allowed inside the library. Smoking, chewing, or consuming any tobacco product is prohibited. Mobile phone use is strictly prohibited.

• Visitor Access: No visitor or guest is allowed to use the library without prior permission from the librarian and a proper introduction letter from the concerned institution or organization.
