These grass-like plants growing along the shallow reaches of the sea play a very critical role that sustains marine life and health. They are breeding sites, food, source of oxygen, coastal erosion control and so much more including super carbon sinks.

Yet we are losing seagrass at an alarming rate...

Our mission is to advocate for policy recognition of seagrass ecosystems for protection. This aims at:

• Embedding gear regulation and habitat monitoring to the care of fisher communities.

• Establishing 1Ha plots for natural regeneration.

• Raising public awareness.

• Advocating for inclusion of seagrass ecosystems in national and county environmental reporting instruments.
