📌 What Is a 0% Credit Card Installment Plan in Thailand?

A 0% installment plan in Thailand allows customers to pay for a purchase in monthly installments without interest.

Although the payment is made monthly, Thai banks require the full purchase amount to be temporarily reserved from the credit card limit at the beginning of the installment plan.

This system may be different from credit card installment plans in some other countries.

⚙️ How Does It Work?

• The full purchase amount is reserved from your credit card limit once the installment plan is approved.
  

• You are charged only the monthly installment, not the full amount at once.
  

• As each monthly payment is made, the reserved credit limit is gradually released.
  

• This process is automatically managed by the bank, not by the store.
  
  

💳 Example Scenario

Credit card limit: 100,000 THB
Purchase amount: 25,000 THB
Installment plan: 0% for 10 months

What happens:

    • At the start:

        ◦ 25,000 THB is reserved from your credit limit

        ◦ Available credit becomes 75,000 THB

    • Monthly payment:

        ◦ 2,500 THB per month

    • Each month:

        ◦ You pay 2,500 THB

        ◦ The bank releases 2,500 THB back to your credit limit

    • After 10 months:

        ◦ The full 25,000 THB is paid

        ◦ Your credit limit returns to 100,000 THB

👉 You are not charged interest, and you are not charged the full amount at once,
but the credit limit is temporarily reserved during the installment period.

Important Note

This installment structure is a standard policy applied by Thai banks and applies equally to all customers.
Unfortunately, the store does not have the ability to change how the credit limit is reserved.
