In March of 2023, Waterville Valley voters passed a non-monetary warrant article to adopt a Community Electric Power Plan.
Our Community Electric Power Plan was granted provisional approval by the Public Utilities Commission on May 12, 2023, and final approval in June of 2023.
Voters approved a 2025 warrant article enabling the Community Electric Power Program to establish a reserve fund to support future local energy projects and cost savings. The Selectboard will oversee a $2,000 allocation to support communication efforts for a potential program launch. The committee continues to monitor market conditions and is waiting until rates are optimal before launching the program. We are currently working with ECM Power for our consulting services.
Waterville Valley Community Power will launch in June 2026,
giving residents and businesses access to lower, more stable electricity rates and new energy
supply options. The town-operated program uses group purchasing and a competitive bidding process to deliver
transparent, cost-effective electricity options. Customers can choose how their electricity is
sourced, including options with higher levels of renewable energy.
