Willamette Valley Horn Academy

Vision Statement:

The vision of the Willamette Valley Horn Academy is to provide resources that help students reach their utmost playing potential through sequenced instruction, an emphasis on strong playing fundamentals and practice techniques, and the formation of horn ensembles. Our desire is to create a sense of community where all students are challenged, encouraged, and inspired.

What you get for your membership:

1) A four tiered sequenced Curriculum, with PDF's and practice aids, that will allow students to maximize their practice time and create more streamlined growth

2) Horn students will have access to the hundreds of resources to aid in their horn development. There are PDFs of Warm-up Routines, Etudes, Solos, Duets, Ensembles, Church arrangements, and much more. 

3) Access to a Professional Track area. This section provides resources for those who are thinking of a career in music. There are Advanced etudes with practice tracks. Orchestral Excerpt resources, and many other resources for the budding professional horn player

How it works. 

Based on the amount of time the student as played the horn, they would place themselves on the curriculum that best fits their current level. Once they establish their starting point, they need to develop a daily habit of practicing. Students should always start with the established routine. Then students should work through the assigned etudes given in each sequence. They should utilize the practice track resources to maximize their daily practice. Only after these things have been done should students work on their band music.
