Eric Ellis Started his coaching career at Concord College in 1994. At Concord they made the conference tournament for the first time in 20 years. He then became the assistant Baseball Coach at Chapmanville High School from 1991-1992 and 1995-2001, assisting his father, legendary Coach Ted Ellis. He was there for multiple #1 ranked teams, 7 Sectional Titles, 3 Regional Titles, 1 State Runner Up, 1 State Title. He became the Head Baseball Coach at Chapmanville High School/Chapmanville Regional High School in 2002, as post he held until 2018. He accumulated 15, 20+ win seasons in that time totaling 396 wins, a an average of 23 win per season. Ellis had four #1 Ranked Teams, three Cardinal Conference Championships (joined in 2007), nine Sectional Championships, three Regional Championships, one State Runner Up (2015, record of 30-5), one State Title (2011, record of 35-3). His teams garnered national attention when they were ranked in Powerade/ESPN Top 50 high school teams in the country in 2011. Eric was the Head Coach of the South in the North/South game (2008). He coached one professional, and over 40 players who went on to play collegiately. He was the WVBCA Baseball Coach of the Year (2011), WVSSAC Baseball Coach of the Year (2015), NFHS U.S. Mideast Section Coach of the Year (2015), and the NFHS National Coach of the Year finalist (2015).
