Doug Little has done some big-time things while coaching baseball at Potomac State in Keyser (WV), turning the school’s program into a junior college powerhouse. The 2025 campaign was his 28th season leading the Catamounts.
While at the school, Little has amassed nearly 900 wins as the head coach. He’s enjoyed 21 seasons of 30 or more victories. Along the way, he has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year 10 times.
His career at Potomac State includes four trips to the Division Junior College World Series. Under his guidance, the Catamounts have won the NJCAA Region XX Baseball Tournament championship 14 times. In 2016, he was inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.
Several of his players advanced on to play for four-year programs and numerous Catamounts have been drafted by Major League Baseball clubs. Besides his outstanding coaching, he was instrumental in leading the way for Potomac State’s Golden Park baseball facility, which opened in 2002.
Prior to coaching the Catamounts. He was an assistant for five seasons at West Virginia University.
A 1984 Parkersburg High School graduate, Little played baseball at Alderson Broaddus College where he was a two-time All-West Virginia Conference outfielder.
