This was a project for my Environmental Game Design class. We learned how to utilize Unreal Engine 5 to create an open-world level that transitioned into a dungeon level. We were tasked with going through the design process to create these levels. We started off by writing a short story to explain what our levels are and the lore behind them. Next, we sketched the layout of the map. We then translated this sketch into a block-out version. After that, we began detailing and had a fully playable level. The last part was to add the lighting.
