Key Rules for Credit Cards
Always pay your statement balance when it's due
Accruing interest defeats the whole-purpose of the credit card game. If you can't afford it, don't buy it.
Set up auto-pay on each card once you get it. Paying your balance before the statement close (generally) can hurt your credit score. So just pay once a month
Don't fall for shiny objects
Again, don't buy what you can't afford. There will be amazing deals and opportunities, but if you weren't going to pursue it anyways, it may end up costing more.
A credit card with an awesome perk might seem great, but you have to look at the whole picture to make sure it is worth it for you
Apply at the right time
Be careful on applying to too many cards too fast, there are rules for each bank on how fast you can apply.
If you are getting a car loan or mortgage, be sure to not apply to any cards for at least 6 months beforehand.
