The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Traffic Enforcement Division (TED) is dedicated to promoting road safety and reducing traffic incidents across Texas. The division enforces traffic laws, monitors speed compliance, and ensures commercial vehicle safety. TED officers conduct roadside inspections and target high-risk traffic violations to prevent accidents and promote public safety. Attached to TED is the Motorbike Unit, which provides enhanced mobility and response capabilities, particularly in congested areas or during special events. These officers utilize motorcycles for traffic control, high-visibility enforcement, and rapid response, working to maintain safe, efficient roadways statewide.
