Talks

We invite different guest speakers to give talks to our students in order to broaden their visions and love for reading. Since the 2017 school year, we have invited acclaimed author Jan Latta, registered counseling psychologist Miss Ngai and counselor Ms. Joe to our school to share on different topics that promote reading.

Wild Adventures with Jan Latta

Ms. Jan Latta is an author and wildlife photographer that follows and shares the true-to-life stories of endangered animals from Africa, Sri Lanka, Borneo, China, Uganda, India and Costa Rica. We are glad to have her come from her home country of Australia to share her experiences with us. She was so kind to stay behind and be interviewed by our students after the talk.

On 1st December 2018, registered counseling psychologist Miss Ngai shared about the benefits of paired-reading between parents and their children. After that, she conducted a workshop about how to practise parent-child reading during the school's Parent Interest Class on 9th January, 2019

The librarians from the Hong Kong Public Library came to the school to share about the E-resources provided by the public library. Students learned more about its services and facilities, which motivated them to visit the public library more often.

Ms. Joe, a knowledgeable educator and counselor, gave three talks to our students from different levels to teach them the following topics: storytelling skills for Primary 1 and 2; reading skills for Primary 3 and 4; creative writing skills for Primary 5 and 6.
