Teaching Shakespeare, Here and Now
adaptation, performance, pedagogy
adaptation, performance, pedagogy
We're bringing together educators and theater practitioners for a packed day and a half, including workshops for literature and drama teachers, a keynote address by Dr. Jesus Montaño and a staged reading of Seres Jaime Magaña's The Tragic Corrido of Romeo and Lupe.
The symposium will offer multiple tracks of workshops, so that you can choose depending on your interests. Led by actors, directors, educators, and literary scholars from across Texas (and beyond), each workshop will offer insights on particular aspects of Shakespearean pedagogy. You can choose to focus just on drama or literature or take a mix.
Our meals and reception will offer the opportunity to chat with our guest speakers and with other Panhandle teachers, to compare notes and brainstorm new strategies.
