SURG = Summer Undergraduate Research Grant
Funding for Faculty and Student Research Teams
This project received 2025 and 2024 funding through the Worcester State Summer Undergraduate Research Grant Program (WSU SURG). Funding for the WSU SURG Program comes through the generosity of the late Lt. Col. James F. Sheehan ’55 USMC Retired and the Worcester State University Foundation.
The SURG Program is an annual grant designed to fund summer-long faculty/student team research or creative projects. Teams are 1 faculty and 1 - 2 students.
Faculty oversee these projects starting the first week in June until the last full week of August. A faculty/student team may apply for funding to initiate a new project or continue work on an on-going project. Check out a WSU News article showcasing projects from 2023.
