Concerning discussion of ultra-fast read-out via optical to near IR Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) spectrograph

Kieran O'Brien (Durham) asked whether optical to near IR Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) spectrograph could potentially considered for a subset of fibers, e.g., as a visitor instrument. 

This would have possible application in providing ultra-fast (microsecond) exposure times for use with very short timescale variability
