Free to any Washington State youth in Grades 8 -12
Artwork can feature any mathematical topic, such as:
•Work created using mathematics
•Work illustrating a mathematical object or structure
•Work featuring a mathematician (historical or current)
An artist statement must be included describing how mathematics was used or featured in their work.

People’s Choice Award
Voted on attendees of the HS State Contest on April 20, 2024 at Central Washington University for work that is brought and displayed by the artist
Judging Criteria
Each category ranked out of 10
Purpose Artists purpose is clearly thought out and effectively achieved with the chosen materials and mathematical topic
Technique Artist effectively uses techniques and tools enhance the appearance of the work
Mathematical Expression Artist effectively expresses a mathematical idea as described in their artist statement. At its best, this will also bring to light an element of the mathematical idea or mathematician rarely seen
Organization The use of elements, mathematical ideas and principal of art enhance the overall appearance of the work.
