Can a mentor have many mentees?
Yes, a mentor can support up to four mentees at a time.
Can a mentee have many mentors?
No, each mentee is matched with one mentor at a time.
What are the benefits of the program?
Networking with local SLPs
Gaining insight into different practice settings, especially if you’re considering a change.
What is required of mentees and mentors who participate in the program?
The program lasts one year.
Participants must abide by the ASHA Code of Ethics and follow all confidentiality guidelines, including HIPAA compliance.
What are the expectations of the program?
Mentors and mentees are expected to connect at least three times throughout the year (once per quarter).
Meetings can be held virtually or in person, depending on availability and preference.

How will mentees and mentors be matched?
Matches will be based on specialty areas (e.g., articulation, assistive listening devices, multicultural practice) or desired settings (e.g., schools, hospitals, private practice).

How much time will mentoring take?
Mentors and mentees are expected to meet at least 3 times over the course of the year.
What if I want to sign up as a mentor or mentee outside the sign-up window (7/1–8/15)?
You are welcome to fill out the interest form and email wslhacommunications@gmail.com so we can match you with a mentor or mentee!
How mentees and mentors meet?
