UW Madison Sustainability Symposium

Description:

The Sustainability Symposium, hosted by the Office of Sustainability and the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies will feature flash talks, posters, refreshments, and a keynote, with welcoming remarks by Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend and/or to submit a poster or lightning talk. See the URL below to register or submit your work.

3rd Annual Case Competiton - Deadline to Sign Up is October 28th

The 3rd Annual Net Impact Sustainability Competition will be happening November 1st - 11th. This competition allows all members of the university to create and pitch a project that focuses on making Grainger Hall more sustainable and green! Don't wait to sign up as this event is a can't miss.

Below are some of the past events hosted by NET IMPACT. Through these events, MBA and other graduate business students were able to experience and learn how to create sustainable business outcomes.

Earth Day Clean Up - 2022

APR 2022 - Wisconsin Net Impact hosted MBA students in a event focused on cleaning up the surrounding neighborhood. Filled with donuts and coffee, and equipped with garbage bags and gloves, these participants set out to make the earth a little bit greener. The next time you are out enjoying nature, please think about how you can take action to preserve the environment and make your own positive NET IMACT!

Tom Putzer - Serving the 99%

FEB 2022 - Tom Putzer, Director of Base of Pyramid at SC Johnson, presented his work leading SC Johnson's Base of Pyramid Group. The event highlighted sustainable business practices and how corporations can make a global impact that benefits all of humanity.

March 2020 & 2021 - The first and second annual sustainability competitions were held by NET IMPACT with the idea to create a greener Grainger Hall. Winning ideas not only won a cash prize, they were also funded by the university's Green Fund. Look to the Sustainability Competition page for more information.
