(WSAP)

The Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP) is a professional association of individuals and institutions promoting women’s and gender studies. It was established in 1987 as the Women’s Studies Consortium, involved practitioners and advocates of women's and gender studies from seven Metro Manila colleges and universities, namely: University of the Philippines, Miriam College, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, St. Scholastica's College, Philippine Normal University, and Philippine Women's University. The network was recognized nationally with its official registration as the Women’s Studies Association of the Philippines in 1992. In 2016, it was officially introduced as the Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines.

WSAP aims to introduce and strengthen women’s and gender studies in Philippine education, generate knowledge and expertise on promoting gender equality and women's empowerment, conduct training and develop curriculum and instructional resources, and create a network of Philippine scholars in women’s and gender studies, both locally and globally.

The organization's main office is based at the University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) on the University of the Philippines Diliman campus in Quezon City.

WSAP, together with our partners in the Philippine women’s rights movement, is proud to present the BPfA+30 NGO Report.

This document is more than a report; it is a collective testament. It is the product of nationwide consultations with women's groups and community women, capturing their lived experiences and expert analysis to assess the 30-year implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA) in the Philippines.

Despite the unexpected challenges across the Philippines—including flooding, earthquakes, and the disruptions that came with them—our community came together with resilience and commitment. What was originally planned as a three-day gathering became a restructured yet deeply meaningful two-day conference, grounded in solidarity and shared purpose.

To all participants, presenters, and WSAP members who traveled, adjusted, and stayed engaged: thank you. Your presence and passion made the conference not only possible—but powerful.
