I am a Professor in the Education Department at Eastern Connecticut State University, where I have taught courses in educational technology in our online graduate program and in the social foundations of education and liberal studies since 1995.
I have also taught in the Education Departments at SUNY-Plattsburgh, California State University, Los Angeles, and Sonoma State University. My professional career is founded on 5 years as a Peace Corps high school teacher in Zaire and in high schools in Israel and California.
I received my Ph.D. in Comparative and International Education from UCLA, M.A. in Educational Technology from Concordia University in Montreal, and my B.S. in Biology/Secondary Education from SUNY-Brockport.

Session Short Description:
In this Birds-of-a-Feather Session for university teacher education faculty, participants will share their insights on the applications of educational technology and augmented imagination to build learning communities that encourage exploration for participants in first-year liberal arts and capstone courses. The applications of AI, Google Earth, Personal Archives for Learning, online presentation tools, and intercultural collaborations to support planning to fulfill the sustainable development goals will be examined.
Session Full Description Actionable Advice:
The use of tools like Copilot, Google Earth, NotebookLM, Googlesites as personal archives for learning, EXCEL for storing memories of learning that fulfill liberal arts outcomes and experiential competencies, and intercultural collaborations to support teacher education will be discussed.
