ORIGINS
Jenny Dannington is a character from my story "Draiocht Academy", a tale of twin sisters navigating high school and solving a murder, but that is not her true origin. Originally, her twin sister, Jessica, didn't have a sibling, in fact, I was originally going to call the story "Detective Jessica". I had made Jessica in Royale High on Roblox, and then one day I happened to play with my younger cousin, who named her character (she wanted to be Jessica's sister) Jenny. I decided then that Jessica would have a twin sister.
CHARACTER BACKSTORY
The Danningtons were a wealthy family living mostly in Northern California with vacation homes in big cities like San Diego and Los Angeles. Francester Dannington was a product of the family's generational wealth but still wanted to make a name for himself apart from that so he became a lawyer with his own firm, Dannington & Phil Lawyer Agency.
Despite the immense wealth, he had many of his own problems. He was aggressive and bitter, often taking it out on his family. When he married his wife, Christina, it wasn't long before he treated her the same. Because of his upbringing teaching him to at least try to be a good father, when they were given twin girls, he avoided hitting them as much as he could. However, he was still mentally abusive.
Many nights the twins would be woken up to the sound of their mother's screams and cries. While Jessica would fight back, often storming into their bedroom and hitting and screaming at her father, Jenny would sit on her bed and cry.
One fateful night, the twins had a sleepover that they had been invited to by one of their classmates. At about 9 PM, the phone began ringing at the house they were staying at. It was the police explaining that their mother had been murdered and their father had been taken into custody. He was not put into jail and was released the following Friday. Even after the twins had been put into court-ordered therapy, Jenny was not able to recount any of the traumatic incidents and would not be able to for years.
PERSONALITY/CHARACTER
Jenny was always a bubbly, kind, and vibrant young girl. She loved fashion and music, and thanks to her family money, was able to indulge in both, I also often associate her with rose coloured glasses because of her slightly gullible way of thinking about people. Her deep hatred of her father was plunged to the depths of her soul, along with many memories of her mother. Her childhood developed in the usual sense otherwise, with a good amount of friends, all the gifts she could want and more, and all the regular life lessons, along with all the happy and nostalgic memories to cloud the unfortunate ones.
She was never regarded as very smart academically, especially in comparison to her twin sister. This was also a deep source of hurt and struggle for her.
As for her romantic life, Jenny has had quite the traumatic one. She dated guys for most of her life, jumping from guy to guy effortlessly. She wasn't attracted to them and never would be, but insisted on being with them anyway rather than accepting that she was a lesbian.
Even despite her hatred of her father, she always felt deeply guilty when she would spend his money, as if the millions they had was anything in comparison to literal murder.
APPEARANCE (outside of pictured)
Christina Dannington's favourite colour was pink. She adored it and would from time to time dress the twins in pink. After her mother's death, Jenny subconsciously began dressing in pink. At first, just incorporating it in a few outfits it slowly took over her wardrobe and eventually her room and anything she bought. It became her favourite colour. She wears it head to toe, so much in fact that I will see something pink in a store and think "Jenny would probably wear that".
She has bright blue eyes and a large smile. She wore pink braces from the ages of 12 to 18 because of her slight lack of perfected dental hygiene.
She often leans from super bright pinks in short skirts and band tees to delicate pinks in long dresses and lacey coats.
She loves accessories, from bracelets to hoop earrings to ankle charms to sunglasses.
LIFE TIMELINE/FUTURE
After her high school years at Draiocht Academy, she moved to San Francisco and lived in an apartment with her sister Jessica.
Eventually, she became an intern working under a detective at the police department in order to build experience to become a private investigator, weaving into her eventual ownership of the Dark Carnation Investigative Agency, which specializes in murder.
She "fell in love" with Chris, a guy from her high school, and after about a year or so of dating, she became pregnant with her first child, Rome, at 21. They got married a few months after. Chris was not an abusive husband, but was not a good one and they often verbally fought and argued.
Later on at 24, she had her second child with Chris, Shannon-Tyler. When Shannon-Tyler was 2, (Jenny being 26), her and Chris decided on a divorce. Shortly after this, Jenny pays her father a visit. He later then dies from "his heart condition" and not the air shot between his toes.
The true love of her life from high school, Nattie, would drift back into her life after high school and they'd begin dating. Also, it wasn't until after her divorce that she went to therapy on her own terms and slowly began to work out her childhood trauma and the trauma surrounding her mother.
