                        Our State's Motto is FORWARD! 

1848-- that's the year Wisconsin became a state.  The Wisconsin chapter of WDA is going forward together to champion democracy  and the institutions that embody and protect it at a time of historic suppression of civil liberties.  We invite readers, writers, publishers, bookstores, teachers and all those who defend free speech and civil society and equality  to join us.  We defend authors and battle censorship. We believe in offering books and support to informed citizens and in informing our fellow citizens. A democracy is only powerful if we defend it with our words and actions.  Won't you join us?
