Ode on an Actor's Painting of Lake Erie
If you don't know, it seems to be the sea--
A wooded shore that stretches to the sky.
A stage-set oil, an actor's reverie
If you don't know, it seems to be the sea.
But great-Grandpa reaches up through time to me
And the lake and trees are lovely to my eye.
If you don't know, it seems to be the sea--
A wooded shore that stretches to the sky
This was in response to the challenge about living with a piece of art. Here's the art, by my great-grandfather, Charles Millington... an excellent painter, for an actor and furniture salesman.
