Tasucan is the country where Wrath of the Sun takes place!
The sea borders it on the west and other countries on the continent extending from the north, south and east.
Most of Tasucan has a dry desert-like climate but the Howling Mountains are significantly colder and Nightmire has a damp, swampy atmosphere.
There are 5 major regions in Tasucan (excluding the Central Temple).
"Where those who are lost gather"
This simple hub connects the four major areas of Tasucan and serves as an important pit stop to those in ancient times and may serve as relief to this lands new "Inhabitants". Some say this is the oldest building in Tasucan. Kalimba says this is where the divine sun shards must be gathered to "purify the sun".
Once a prosperous city rich in culture and development now a quiet cold pile of rubble.
This complex city has many twists and turns, empty homes and deteriorating infrastructure. But do not be fooled! These streets are far from empty as the nefarious Shamblers call this city home.
One wrong step and you will be set upon by ravenous undead!
Night is the worst time to explore the streets as the undead rise all at once and hunt the living down like animals. Thats not to say there is some reward to this risk as many hidden treasures are left abandoned by the cities former inhabitants. From crumbling records to holy relics, vast richest and hidden magical potential...The most notable sections are the villas of ancient nobles to the imposing Temple of Gold.
This former wonder of nature has been cursed with never ending brightness bleaching the earth turning the ground grey and colorless. The once holy site of the Temple of Light is now barren and mostly lifeless.
Due to the overabundance of Pure Light, a special "Black Lantern" is required in order to traverse this still, rocky canyon. This phenomenon has causes no natural darkness or shadow to form even with the darkened power of a black lantern.
Very few inhabitants live in this bright canyon with no undead creature in sight, instead creatures such as the monstrous "Solar Moth" tainted by the cursed light prowl the caverns carved out within the canyon walls.
Aside from a few abandoned homes and altars here and there the main building of interest is the Holy "Temple of Light" a once sacred site were the former people of Tasucan would take pilgrimage to is now the very source of this eternal light. This temple is gaurded by the attendant ADU drones.
The Howling Mountain was once the home of Tasucan's industrial ore mining and fossil gathering. It's said that giant holy beasts ruled this land long ago. Now anyone would struggle to live in the frigid cold. The surface is practically uninhabitable to any living creature. Uncontrollable blizzards and thunderstorms make the area perilous to traverse. All villages and mining operations have been left frozen in time.
Descendants of the original mountain population live underground. Huddled around the charred giant skeletons to keep warm. They fight to gain control of raw Bakuran ore deposits.
Despite the loss of the sun, Mining Constructs continue to mine as if no change has occurred. Their leader, IBIS, stores ore within a large repository within the Howling Mountain's caves, guarding it for a purpose that has long since vanished.
Nightmire is a region which changed immensely after the loss of the Sun. The cultivated plant life grew wildly out of control. Now the land has become a swampy marsh full of giant trees, strangling vines and poisonous water. What this region lacks in treasure, it more than makes up for in knowledge. Legends speak of an ancient library inside Nightmire’s greatest landmark: The White Elder Tree.
Said to be the oldest and biggest tree in the land with wood that can weather any storm. Inside is a hollowed out labyrinth of tunnels and traps, guarding the knowledge of the land that hides inside.
But stay safe on your travels...Rumour has it that both strange cultists and a nosy historian have been hiding in the shadows. It'd be unwise to meddle with folks like that.
The seas bordering Tasucan have always been tumultuous, but now they bring ruin to any but the luckiest of souls. Sky or Sea - neither is safe from the unnatural disasters that curse the Sea of the Damned. Beneath the roaring waves, sea monsters lie in wait to add to their horde of destroyed totems and shipwrecks.
Above in the sky, storms of fire, wind and thunder strike down any outlander foolish enough to venture above. Few souls have any knowledge about safe travel in and out of Tasucan by the sea since the arrival of the Dark Sun.
Yak and the Cult of Shadows will often come to tend to the Electric Eels resting here. The cult are some of the few who do not get attacked by the monsters of the deep.
Don't get lost now...
