We are a small group of WPI students passionate about applying engineering concepts to solving complex environmental problems. We are comprised of mostly Chemical Engineering students, with few Mechanical, Electrical and Robotics Engineering majors as well. We are open to anyone who is interested in learning more!
We compete in the AIChE/RAPID ChemE cube competition at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Annual Student Conference (AIChE ASC). To do this, we spend time collaborating on process design, literature review, and experimentation in lab so that we can design an process that is a innovative solution to the current design challenge!
The current design challenge is Direct Air Capture (DAC), which is carbon capture that operates on ambient air rather than point sources of Caron dioxide. We are prompted to design a small, modular, semi-autonomous carbon capture plant that performs DAC. More information can be found on the offical chemE cube website and the competition materials can be found under "key files".
