In an emergency, please contact 119 or the operator. 24-hour, in-house security is available to assist.
Generally, we will honour your request for privacy; however, we reserve the right to enter the guestroom for safety, security, and maintenance.
We maintain a 24-hour Security team at the hotel. If you need Security, just call Whatever/Whenever and we’ll send an officer to assist you. When you’re in your room, please keep your door double locked (with the security latch closed) and don’t open the door for strangers. And remember, Security can always be called to verify the identity of any hotel team member requesting entry to your room.
There is an emergency evacuation plan located by your guestroom door. Please review the plan and acquaint yourself with the nearest fire exit. In the unlikely event of a fire, please proceed to the exit nearest you. Do not use the lift/elevator.
All fires should be reported to the hotel.
Count the number of doors to the exit, and any corners or obstacles along the path, so that you can find your way in thick smoke. If you are sure there is
a fire, call Whatever/Whenever via your guestroom phone for information. Feel the door before opening to see if it’s hot. If so, remain in the room and contact Whatever/Whenever.
If it’s cool, open it slowly to check the conditions in the hallway.
If you leave, be sure to take your room key. Once in the hall, if you are not sure you can make it to the exit, or if the stairwell is filled with smoke, return to your room. If you return to or stay in your room, seal out smoke by blocking air vents and cracks around the doors with wet towels. Fill the bathtub and wastebaskets with water. Use the water to cool the doors and walls.
If you find yourself in smoke and heat, stay low to the ground where the air is easier to breathe. A wet cloth over your nose and mouth also aids breathing. If you are on an upper floor, wait for rescue. People who jump from the upper floors could be injured.
Above all, remain calm. In any emergency, your chances for survival increase with your level of preparedness and ability to act with a clear head.
