In response to the growing need for environmentally friendly and sustainable crop protection, WorldVeg establishes the WorldVeg–Biologicals Consortium. WBC will accelerate the development, scaling, and adoption of biologicals through strategic collaboration among researchers, industry, policymakers, and farmers.
The core objectives of the Consortium are to:
Accelerate Development and Adoption of Biologicals
Foster Public–Private Partnerships
Strengthen Policy and Regulatory Support
Promote regional and international collaboration
Strengthen capacity and knowledge exchange
Our Mission
WorldVeg Biologicals Consortium
is dedicated to advancing the development, application, and enabling environment of biological agricultural inputs. The Consortium aims to accelerate the scaling and adoption of biocontrols, biostimulants, biofertilizers, and botanicals across research, industry, policy, and farming communities.
At its core, the Consortium strengthens public–private partnerships that bring together research institutions, industry partners, policymakers, and farming communities to collectively address climate change, heavy reliance on chemical pesticides, and the growing demand for safe and sustainable food systems.
We believe biologicals are not merely a business opportunity but a collective response to building resilient, sustainable, and innovation-driven agricultural systems.
Consortium Framework
To ensure effective cross-sector collaboration and action, the Consortium is structured around four thematic committees that guide priorities and implementation:
Focuses on farmer needs, adoption barriers, and demonstration efforts to accelerate on-farm uptake of biological solutions.
Advances scientific research, innovation, and validation to strengthen the efficacy, reliability, and application of biologicals.
Connects companies and startups to explore product development, business models, and market pathways.
Facilitates dialogue with regulatory authorities to support science-based and forward-looking policy and regulatory frameworks.
Through this structure, members can co-design priorities, provide expert guidance, and collaborate across sectors to shape the future of biologicals.
Consortium-led Projects
The Consortium supports consortium-led projects in which two or more members jointly propose and implement initiatives around shared priorities, supported through pooled resources and funding.
Project examples include:
Repurposing and expanding biocontrol and biological product studies
Conducting field efficacy trials and demonstration pilots
Policy research, regulatory analysis, and institutional engagement
Join Us
