We decided to accept the late-registration of Sándor Gyüre as some groups were missing a player. After an additional random draw, he joins group B.

25 February 2025: Referees

We have decided to add a separate function in order to make the competition better: Referees.

The Referees help the Organisers with their duties. Referees are responsible for technical assistance, including:

• helping players arrange their matches in case of any difficulties,

• helping players during their matches by taking care of the playing table, as well as counting the current score,

• helping the organisers in any organisational work when asked.

Everyone who is willing to help the Organisers may apply for the role of a Referee by contacting any of us.

All Referees are enlisted in a separate section of the website.

20 February 2025: Liu Xiangbo's conditions to participate

Based on Liu Xangbo's past wrongdoings and to preserve the integrity of the competition, we have decided to allow him to play in WBC 2025 only under the condition that he has to stream and record every game he plays in the competition.
