19 September 2023: Change of the random prize

We have decided to change the prize for the random lottery mentioned in Clause 13 of the rules. The winner will get € 25 instead of magnetic board due to lack of resources.

The lottery will be performed on Tuesday, 19 September at 20:00 CEST via Random Name Picker available here on twitch.tv/lzoli9.

28 May 2023: Additional three days for the match Kristóf Ménesi vs Petr Žižka

We have decided to virtually extend the fifth round with three days, i.e. until 31 May 23:59 CEST, exclusively for the match between Kristóf Ménesi and Petr Žižka. The sixth round will start as planned, i.e. on 29 May. Players may start arranging their matches.

The only competitors who have not played their match, Kristóf Ménesi and Petr Žižka, have an opportunity to arrange it within the given additional time period. Once the match is arranged, at least one of them has to notify us about it until Tuesday 29 May at 18:00.

Kristóf and Petr did not manage to arrange their match within the last 2 weeks, therefore an admin date was set. None of the players appeared on the playing server at the announced time. Petr notified his opponent and us just two minutes before the planned start about his inability to join, and Kristóf decided to not join based on the received message. To avoid any misunderstandings on potential walkovers, we decided to give Kristóf and Petr additional three days to play the match.

The decision was made in order to secure the best possible chances to play a match of such a late stage, especially given high quality of games and decent number of spectators to be expected. 

27 May 2023: Admin date for the match Kristóf Ménesi vs Petr Žižka

Due to difficulties in arranging the match of the lower bracket between Kristóf Ménesi and Petr Žižka, we have decided to set admin date. The match is scheduled to Sunday 28 May at 20:30.

26 February 2023: Resignation of Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz resigned from the competition. Consequently, all his matches of the group stage are considered a technical win for his opponents.

22 February 2023: Resignation of Miroslav Kováč

Miroslav Kováč resigned from the competition. Consequently, all his remaining matches of the group stage are considered a technical win for his opponents.

17 February 2023: Potential pre-eliminations between the group and double elimination stages

Now that more than 64 players have signed up for the championship, we have to adjust the tournament formula:

All players who finish 5th in the group stage and do not resign or get disqualified will play an elimination match against randomly selected players who finish 4th. The winners of these elimination matches will advance to the lower bracket.

The additional matches will be played with the same formula as the matches of the double elimination stage.
