We live in truly odd times, so why not ride the wave and tack on some additional existential dread with cinema's various takes on the end of the world. From the calm, grim acceptance of On the Beach to the shrieking takeover of Invasion of the Body Snatchers to the playful road trip in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (pictured), we all handle oblivion a little differently.

Edit : Okay, i didn't expect so many responses. I can't answer every comment but i thank everyone for the recommendations. I've found some good material for a while and also got reminded of movies i have already watched but love to see again. Thank you!!!

Unfortunately, she makes a mortal enemy of a wicked witch when the house falls on the hag's sister. Now, befriended by a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man with no heart and a cowardly lion--and protected by a pair of enchanted ruby slippers--Dorothy sets off along a yellow brick road for the Emerald City to beseech the all-powerful Wizard of Oz for his help to return home.

Analysis of ten sets of financial statements for the Jurassic World movies shows that one of the biggest single costs was paying the crew. They got a combined $12.3 million (9.9 million) for Fallen Kingdom whilst the cost came to $34 million (27.4 million) on Dominion. Its staff numbers peaked at 454 people which doesn't even include freelancers and self-employed workers who make up the majority of the crew.

"The reports were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even said, so much less," Howard told Insider. "When I started negotiating for 'Jurassic,' it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set." She added that after discussing the gap with Pratt he pushed for her to receive equal pay on other opportunities that were not already contractually binding, such as spinoff video games and the theme park rides at Universal's parks in Hollywood and Beijing.

The haircut on her salary is one of the reasons why the movies managed to be profitable despite their blockbuster costs. Perhaps the biggest driving force was the reimbursement from the UK government. The financial statements reveal that Fallen Kingdom received a $84.5 million (68 million) tax credit with a further $64.1 million (51.6 million) handed to Dominion.

Weighed down by $8.9 billion of debt and lease liabilities, the US arm of Cineworld filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September. Just last week it announced that it too will be taken over by its creditors after it failed to find a buyer for its US and UK operations. Stockholders will lose all their money in the restructuring deal and, ominously, Cineworld added that despite this, it may not even be able to remain in business long enough to emerge from Chapter 11. For the theater industry, happily ever after still seems to be far, far away.

The goal is to promote high-quality filmmaking in regions with a weak infrastructure for film, while fostering cultural diversity in German cinemas as well as supporting collaboration between German and European producers and partners in WCF regions and countries. All WCF films completed to date have screened at cinemas and/or in the programmes of renowned festivals. Many have also won significant prizes, proof of the worldwide success of the initiative.

The wounds of European conflict and Nazi occupation were still tender in Rome in late 1944, which chimed with the documentary instincts of Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini. Rome, Open City drew on real issues and situations during the years of conflict. Needless to say, the brutality of the occupying regime is presented with a shocking frankness, not only its indifference to class, age, gender and religion, but its total lack of logical purpose. Rossellini shot the film using leftover celluloid from other movies, which not only lent it a gritty newsreel aesthetic, but a real sense of urgency and anguish. Three years later he would tell a similar story from a different perspective in Germany, Year Zero.

The Jurassic Park movies are responsible for a big chunk of our memories about the magnificent, gigantic, and rampaging prehistoric monsters known more scientifically as dinosaurs. These films are one of the reasons why there are so many dino-lovers among us today, and the franchise is still alive and well, much like the fictional beasts who were cloned back to life.

Indisputably the best film in the franchise, Jurassic Park was released in 1993 and went on to become one of the highest-earning movies of all time. The film begins with the owner of Jurassic Park, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), recruiting a team of scientists and specialists to evaluate his new ambitious theme park, situated on the fictional island of Isla Nublar, to ensure that it is truly safe before it is officially opened to the public.

The first three Jurassic Park movies are available to stream on Prime Video. Jurassic World is available to rent on Prime Video, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion are available to stream on Peacock.

Sayantan is an experienced writer with exceptional skills in editing as well. His curiosity for pop culture first kicked off when he was gifted a Superman lunchbox as a toddler that grew into a love for comics, films, TV shows, and video games, spreading across a multiverse of franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, MCU, The Witcher, Mortal Kombat, anime and more. Pouring his earnest dedication into his articles, Sayantan tries his best to enthrall and educate as many readers as he can, and show how alluring and inspirational the world of fantasy can be!

The publicity was similarly dizzying for the reclusive fisherman, whose survival story spread around the world in news dispatches. But what came after the limelight dimmed was even more significant for Packard.

And while some bits take up too much time, it's also funny in the unfortunate way that other character-based arcs are too short. "History" is a little too good at leaving you wanting more from Taika Waititi's version of Sigmund "Smoking is Cool" Freud or [redacted's] singing version of Stalin, which more or less disappears. Still, the direct lampoons of historical figures are often the most consistently funny, especially if they offer goofy behind-the-scenes ideas of what made someone so popular: Andrew Rannells gives us the funny backstory about a famous but strange photoshoot with three world leaders. Whenever a sketch has a clear connection to the event or person it's playfully asking "What if?" about, it usually leads to a laugh or three.

While humans and dinosaurs never co-existed the same time in the real world, they have become fast friends on the big screen (and on our home screens) with Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park franchise. Over 30 years, the work of those two men - as well as numerous other individual actors, directors, writers, and special effects people - have created a truly cinematic, theatrical experience that feels like a legitimate theme park ride (and has even become one).

As we are in a dormant period of the franchise after the Jurassic World franchise has finished out its trilogy, it's time now to take these movies (and the TV show) out of amber and appreciate it once again (or for the first time, if you've never seen one of these classic dinosaur movies).

While you might recall the Jurassic six films, we must point out the excellent Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous animated series too; don't let the kid-label fool you - it's excellent entertainment, and is bolstered by watching the movies alongside it. 2351a5e196
