Thursday, April 23 - Day of Civility
The Day of Civility is to encourage empathy, respect and understanding in interactions with others. The City of Cumberland has proclaimed, April 23, 2020 the Day of Civility.
We will be celebrating this year's Day of Civility from afar, but not any less together! Join us for the several activities planned to promote kindness and civil conversation. Activities this week include online discussions, such as "Strategies for Civil Conversations at a Distance" hosted by FSU's Department of Communication, a special Food for Fines Day, and highlighting the incredible work of our essential community members. We will also be sharing positive activities and messages from our local communities and partners.
Allegany is among several Maryland counties to take up the initiative which looks to P.M. Forni’s book, “Choosing Civility: The Twenty-five Rules of Considerate Conduct,” for inspiration.
