Dear Colleague,

We would like to inform you of a key upcoming NSF sponsored research community workshop on "Next Generation Cloud Research Infrastructure" to be held on November 11-12, 2019, in Princeton, NJ. The workshop will immediately precede the ACM HotNets 2019 workshop at the same location.

As cloud computing research has evolved, NSF has supported multiple research infrastructure projects for the CISE community. The goal of this workshop is to identify the requirements for future cloud computing research infrastructures that will help ensure continued community contributions to future cloud platforms and technologies. A community discussion of a forward-looking cloud systems research agenda will drive the discussion. We encourage experimental research testbed users, cloud infrastructure developers, and cloud computing educators to participate. We intend to bring together a diverse set of research community members and industry thought leaders with broad expertise in areas related to this discussion.

The workshop will be organized primarily around panels and breakout sessions to encourage brainstorming. Travel grants will be available to selected participants. Students are encouraged to participate. Workshop findings will be reported to the community and to NSF.

Due to strong community interest in advancing cloud research infrastructure, we anticipate that workshop attendance will be limited. To ensure a balance of research perspectives at the event, please follow the instructions for prospective participants by submitting a 1 page abstract summarizing your workshop contribution by the identified deadline.

Thank you very much for your interest and we hope you are able to participate in this important research community planning activity.

Best regards,
