In 2018, a group of researchers at the Centre d'Économie de la Sorbonne-Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne launched the organization of an annual workshop on the role of formal and informal institutions in economic choices and, ultimately, on growth and development.

The workshop features contributions in the fields of development economics, political economics, financial economics, economic history, economics of migration, environmental economics, law and economics, labour and family economics.

Different approaches, ranging from empirical, to historical, experimental, or theoretical are welcome.
