β How do I add a book?
Open WordVia, tap the "+" button on your bookshelf, and choose a file from Files or iCloud Drive. WordVia supports EPUB, PDF, and several plain-text formats.
β How do I translate a word while reading?
Tap any word in the text. The translation appears inline, in context. Tap "Save" to add the word to your personal vocabulary list.
β Which languages are supported?
You can read books in any language and translate them into your preferred one. WordVia supports Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and more.
β Do I need an internet connection?
You need internet the first time a word is translated. Books you have already imported and words you have already saved remain available offline.
β My book will not open. What should I do?
Make sure the file is a valid EPUB or PDF. Try re-importing it from Files. If the issue persists, please email us with the book's title and file format.
β Where are my saved words and reading progress stored?
On your device. WordVia does not upload your books, vocabulary, or reading progress to any server.
β Can I change the reader theme, font, or background?
Yes. Open Settings inside the app to adjust theme (light / dark / sepia), font family, font size, line spacing, and background image.
β Can the app read books out loud?
Built-in text-to-speech is available for supported languages. AI voice narration with read-and-listen mode is coming in a future update.
β How do I delete a book?
Long-press a book on your bookshelf and tap Delete. This removes the file from WordVia, not from your iCloud Drive or Files app.
β Can I use WordVia on multiple devices?
Yes. Books and vocabulary are stored locally on each device. Cross-device sync is on the roadmap.
