Privacy Policy

WordVia (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a reading app for learning languages. This policy explains what data the app handles, what leaves your device, and who receives it.
We do not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number, and we do not sell or rent any data to anyone.
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your device and is stored only in the app’s private storage:
• books and documents you import, your reading position, bookmarks, notes and highlights
• your personal dictionary and saved words
• reading statistics and streaks
• app settings and preferences
Deleting the app removes all of this data. We have no copy of it and cannot restore it.
What leaves your device
Translation
When you select text and request a translation, that selected text is sent to the translation provider you have chosen in settings, so it can return a translation:
• Google Translate — policies.google.com/privacy
• Microsoft Translator — privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
• DeepL — deepl.com/privacy
Only the selected fragment is sent, together with the source and target language. The rest of the book, the file itself, and your other data are not sent. We do not store the text of your translation requests on any server of ours — the app has no server of its own.
If you enable offline translation, translation is performed on your device using downloaded language models, and no text is sent to any translation provider.
Text-to-speech
If you use read-aloud, the text being read is passed to the speech engine provided by your operating system (Apple or Google). Depending on the voice you have selected in your system settings, that engine may process the text on the device or on the vendor’s servers, under the vendor’s own privacy policy.
Analytics and crash reporting
To understand how the app is used and to fix crashes, we use:
• Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage events, such as which screens are opened and which features are used
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reports
• Sentry — error and crash diagnostics
These services receive technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, language and region, a random installation identifier, and — in the case of a crash — the technical state of the app at the moment of failure. They do not receive the content of your books, your notes, your dictionary, or the text you translate.

Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Your rights
Because the app has no account and no server-side profile, all data under our control lives on your device. You can erase it at any time by deleting the app. For data held by the third parties listed above, please refer to their policies, which describe how to exercise your rights under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
