I'm honored to be selected as the Switzer Research Fellowship awardee from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). It is unbelievable for me to be selected for this prestigious fellowship in the field of rehabilitation engineering.
Special thanks to He (Helen) Huang for her sincere support and guidance in my research and preparing this proposal.
I can't wait to push this work forward. Please stay tuned!

Back-to-back conferences! I went directly to Detroit from Singapore to attend IROS 2023 in Detroit, MI.
I presented my last Ph.D. work on a piecewise phase variable based on variable toe-off for the powered knee-ankle prosthesis control in
IROS 2023. This case study considers the varying toe-off at different walking speeds to enhance the speed-adaptability when we compute the phase variable for the powered prosthesis control.
It was a fascinating time to engage with fellow researchers in the same field. Having great inspiration and motivation from them fuels my ongoing research 🔥.

My 1st ICORR (& RehabWeek) ever in Singapore.
It was so good to interact with great researchers working in the field of rehab engineering.
I presented my work, "Towards Personalized Impedance Control Using PCA for Powered Knee Prosthesis," in the podium session. This was about designing a personalization scheme for impedance control of the powered prosthesis with reduced dimensions of tuning parameters.

It's been a long time since I've attended an ASB in person since the COVID-19 pandemic. I was so excited to engage with people and discuss their exciting research here. I did a poster presentation for my recent work regarding the tunable continuous impedance control framework.

I joined the Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (NREL) at the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State University & UNC-Chapel Hill as a postdoc! I'm excited to conduct innovative research on lower-limb assistive devices with Dr. He (Helen) Huang.
I'm also supported by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) as an Advanced Rehabilitation Research and Training (ARRT) Fellow.

My research was briefly featured in the Texas A&M Foundation magazine, Heritage.
I am happy to share my motivation and spirit for doing human rehabilitation research.
Without good friends and colleagues around me, I couldn't make this possible.
Please check out the online version of the magazine for more details. https://issuu.com/txamfoundation/docs/final_digital_pdf_heritage_spring_2022
Dec. 21, 2021
I gave a talk at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea. This was my first invited talk. I shared the latest status of the robotic lower-limb prostheses in the research field.

I have completed my Ph.D. dissertation defense. My dissertation title was "User- and Speed-Adaptability Enhancement of Human Gait Phase Estimation in Powered Prosthesis Control." Thanks to my Ph.D. committee, Dr. Pilwon Hur, Dr. Reza Langari, Dr. John Buchanan, and Dr. Kiju Lee for their support and great suggestions for my study.
Jun. 3, 2021
I presented my work at the 2021 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) via Zoom. The title was "A Phase-Shifting Based Human Gait Phase Estimation for Powered Transfemoral Prostheses," and this work was published in Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L).
