Woodworking Today

People all over the world have worked with wood since the very beginning of time. Long before materials like plastic, steel or bronze existed, if you needed or wanted a thing, you had no choice but to build it out of wood!

Many of our ancestors physically worked with their hands. They had the ability and skills to handle a number of types of woodworking projects.

Some of these became master craftsman in their field. They passed their skills and knowledge on to future generations to continue the line of expertise.

Today things are very different. Most people do not build things from wood, such as their own wood furniture or practical items as many consumer products are made from a wide variety of materials.

Many people purchase what they want or need from their local store and never give the idea of using their hands to produce what they want a second thought.

However, some people with the necessary skills do make a few pieces of their own.
