Welcome to Woodworking Today, my own corner of the web where I get to write about the things that interest me on the subject of woodworking and all things related to it.

I'm Jasper Griswald, a keen home improvement enthusiast with many years experience as a handyman, carpenter and general builder's laborer.

One of the things I love about working with wood is its forgiving nature when little mistakes are made. Things like measuring something a 10th of an inch too long and cutting are easily remedied by making another more accurate cut.

I am often asked by neighbors if I prefer to use nails or screws when joining wooden pieces together and I usually say, "It depends..."

For speed when putting outdoor structures together, nails are quick, easy and hold well. For more intricate joinery, I may prefer screws or glue and tacks, depending on what it is I'm putting together.

Anyway, this is not really the page for writing a big article on my carpentry preferences. I'll cover stuff like that in articles that I publish on this site.

Thanks for visiting!
