What is the purpose of the PTA? Why is the PTA important?
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) helps to strengthen the partnership between home and school, ultimately benefiting students' educational outcomes and overall school success. Our PTA plays several integral roles within our school’s community:
Parental Involvement: By involving parents in school activities and decision-making, the PTA strengthens the relationship between home and school.
Community: Through events, meetings, and volunteer opportunities, the PTA helps to create a supportive and connected school environment.
Advocacy: PTAs can advocate for students' needs and concerns, working with school administrations and local governments to address issues and improve the school environment.
Communication: The PTA serves as a bridge between parents, teachers, and school administration, facilitating open communication and collaboration to address school-related issues and concerns.
Support: PTAs often organize events and fundraisers that support school programs, resources, and extracurricular activities, enhancing the educational experience for students.
Why does the PTA have fundraisers? What does the PTA pay for?
The PTA raises funds to fulfill the aforementioned roles in our school's community. The PTA helps bridge gaps in funding and supports various aspects of school life to benefit students and staff. Our PTA works to fund a variety of initiatives and resources to support our school, including:
Educational Materials to enhance learning.
Extracurricular Activities like clubs, sports and arts programs that enrich students' school experience.
Special Events like school festivals and family nights that build community and provide additional learning opportunities. Funds raised help cover the costs of these events, making them possible and accessible to all students and families.
Teacher Support in the form of grants or stipends for teachers to purchase supplies or implement innovative teaching strategies.
School Improvements for the playground, classrooms, or library, for example.
Addressing Unforeseen Needs: Funds raised can provide flexibility to address unexpected needs or urgent requirements that arise during the school year.
