Everyone is free to use both my sounds and my music (that isn't currenty on my Spotify) for any non-commercial cause, such as YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, or any other non-profit use/for hobbies, etc - so long as you credit me by adding "Original by Woodo Music - linktr.ee/woodomusic" in the description.
Here's a taste of a few things I am working on, to be released properly at a later date!
This piece was inspired by Gareth Coker's Ori and the Will of the Wisps soundtrack, and is my own take on scoring a snippet of the "Ku's First Flight" scene.
This piece was created in order to tinker with a new genre, and capture the elements of an 80s synthwave track. The only stimulus was the main synth heard in the intro that plays throughout.
This piece was created as a cinematic orchestral score, and was created in only 2 hours, with the only stimulus being short loops of harp, percussion, and piano sections.
This piece was created using only a small guitar loop (played by friend and musician Stoopid) and a drum loop. I have developed this from these loops, and turned it into an epic score.
This piece is entirely original, with no specific inspiration, and was created to try and challenge myself in terms of composition.
I set myself some musical challenges in order to show off my skills.
The first of these was to compose short pieces in only 30 minutes.
This piece was inspired by British television, and mainly tried to replicate the mood of the Great British Bake Off soundtrack.
This piece was my own custom recreation of Fallen Down from the Undertale soundtrack, made in a more orchestral style.
The second challenge I set myself was to compose 3 songs in sections. I would compose a section of the song, and then leave it for a week per section, in order to see how well I could transition song sections, and improve how quickly I could compose with time pressure.
The first of these compositions was an orchestral, action-style piece. I mainly took inspiration from the YouTuber-come-composer Guy Michelmore's tutorials for composing action scenes, and used what he taught to shape the scene. I have now released this under the name 'Veil'.
The second of these compositions was an Undertale-inspired boss battle theme.
The third of these compositions was a Sea of Thieves-inspired, more ambient theme. I also took inspiration from the track Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho from the Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End Original Soundtrack
I also composed short sections of songs that would work in game settings, and based them off prompts that were inspired by popular games.
The first of these compositions was created using sound design elements and instrumentals inspired by the DOOM series.
The second of these compositions was inspired by the Final Fantasy Main theme.
The third of these compositions was created to be used as ambient main menu music, mainly for shooter games like Call of Duty, but also maintaining flexibility in order to be used in other settings.
As a side project, I also created music for a Coca Cola advert, and used sound design elements to add to the effect. I started with just the video and narration, and then created my own music, added my own sound effects from Freesound, and mixed it in order to create a sense of space and outdoors.
I was also tasked with creating a bespoke sound design library. I recorded, mixed, and designed both instrumental clips, along with SFX to be used in media.
A lot of my inspiration for my sound design projects came from the YouTube content creator SoundSmith. He made some videos going over his sound design process to be used as effects in his Dungeons & Dragons games, which brought 2 of my passions together. The specific video that showcases the kind of sound I wanted to replicate can be found with this link:

In terms of specific sounds and effects, I took inspiration mainly from the games I play, or other popular media I have watched. I wanted to cover many genres, so a few examples of popular media that inspired me were:
The futuristic sci-fi sound Overwatch (and the honorable mention of the TARDIS from Dr Who), the ambient country sound of Breaking Bad, the synth in the intro theme to the show Severance, and the theme of Psycho. You can find links to the main sounds I used as inspiration here:

Some other ideas I included came to me at the time, such as the monster-like scream I created from my own vocals. My main plan in terms of sound creation was to find an interesting sound using the plugins at Platform One - mainly Native Instruments Kontakt - and play around with different sounds and MIDI notes until I found something that fit the theme I was going for. Additionally, the sounds that use my own vocals/live recordings were either recorded in the studio using a Shure SM7b, or using my own Elgato: Wave 3 mic at home.
I planned to mix these sounds in a less conventional way. Some of my techniques I planned to use were: heavy EQ - where usually it might be a bit more subtle, reverb with a multitude of different settings (delay, wet/dry mix, size, etc), and using pitch shifting with the Pitch II plugin to try and add a bit more depth to my sounds.
The first sound I ever made took inspiration from the Star Wars Death Star, along with the aforementioned SoundSmith Artificer video. I used a metal box of mints as the opening/closing sound and shaking, and used a jaw harp to create the spring-like wobbling effect heard throughout.
