Hey guys! My name's Dominic Wood - a.k.a Woodo. I'm an aspiring Musician, Content Creator, and Voice Actor, that wants to bring a bit of joy to your ears with my unique creativity. I'm always willing to take on new projects, and can capture the elements of different genres with ease.
I specialise in piano and composition, but I also take on other musical skills, such as vocals and multi-instrumentalism. I take inspiration from almost every genre, and I compose and produce songs in the hope to one day become a game composer.
My main genre is orchestral/classical, but I can cover pretty much every genre under the sun - such as Jazz, Electronic, Rock, or other goofy stuff like comedy or nerdcore.
Hope you have a great day, and thanks for checking out my site!
I started making music in 2018, making a very crude composition in Musescore. I spent 2 years learning the basics of music, and learning graded trumpet on the side, along with becoming self-taught at piano.
By 2020, I began my GCSE in music. I started using Bandlab, and began experimenting with different genres and ideas with much more control. I built up my portfolio on YouTube, and ended up with 32 - although crude - songs by the time I had finished my GCSEs.
In 2023, I joined Platform One College of Music to do a Level 3 BTEC in Music Production. I achieved a Distinction grade overall for year 1, and am predicted to do the same for year 2. During the 2 year course, I learned many different skills, such as studio recording, mixing, and production, along with advanced composition skills, using software and plugins including Pro Tools.
I also produced for the Platform One bands Third Time Lucky and Inversions. I also created my own band with 2 of my classmates named Strange Winters, in which I play keys, compose instrumental parts, and sing lead vocals.
In 2025, I applied for and received a conditional offer for the Platform One BAHons degree in Commercial Music.
My creative process usually starts with noodling about on piano until something clicks. Sometimes, my songs come naturally, and are fully written in my head.
Once I have a piano structure, I introduce new parts. Theses usually consist of some sort of string section, drums if needed, and any other instruments that fit the genre.
Sometimes I work with samples, which can be heard in my song Journey. This involved finding and arranging samples to convey the mood and theme I am aiming for.
Additionally, I may use a very limited number of samples to base the song off, in order to challenge myself and expand my musical horizons.
