Northwest Carving Association is proud to announce Joe McConnell as our Featured Carver for our 44th Annual Artistry in Wood Show.
Joe has been carving Northwest Native-Style relief and 3-dimensional pieces since 1993. He has received numerous awards. His carvings include masks, bowls, rattles, paddles, and totem poles.
Joe studied under Jim Ploegman for 8 years and now teaches students in his Beaver Lake Woodworks studio in Sammamish. He provides the knowledge, understanding, tools, and skills to help each student turn raw wood into beautiful art. Many of Joe's students have been with him for 15-20 years.
Joe will be bringing many of his pieces carved over his long career. Come by and admire his art, get a few tips, and even observe some of his students work on their current projects.

Art of Woodcarving with Cecily Bishop
