SATURDAY, 3/8: Immigrant women to rally against Eric Adams' and Donald Trump's anti-immigration measures and for universal social services for all on International Working Women’s Day
Through speeches, participatory art and music performances, immigrant women and allies will gather for the Women’s Strike NYC Fest. They will speak out about how they are personally impacted by the closure of shelters, the 60-day shelter rule, and other attacks on immigrant New Yorkers and how they are organizing to defend their rights.
WHAT?: In commemoration of International Working Women’s Day, the Undocumented Women’s Fund and dozens of partner organizations will hold a festival to highlight the struggles faced by immigrant women in NYC, as well as the essential character of their paid and unpaid labor. The festival will include participatory art activities, music performances, resource tabling and speeches by several organizations. Among the performers, we will feature Feli Rossi, Mariachi Femenil Nueva Amanecer, Mafer Bandola, among others. The Women’s Strike NYC Fest will occur in coordination with International Women’s Day marches, rallies, and pickets in cities and towns across the country and the world. WHY?: For the ninth year in a row, Undocumented Women's Fund (UWF) and partner organizations will take to the streets of NYC to oppose Eric Adams’ and Donald Trump’s dangerous anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric. Under the slogan “When Immigrant Women Stop, the World Stops with Us”, Las Comadres–recent arrivals residing in city shelters and embers of Undocumented Women’s Fund, will rally with tenants, reproductive justice and LGBTQ organizers, educators, healthcare workers, domestic workers, anti-war organizers, and many others, to demand an end to the criminalization and scapegoating of immigrant communities, access to universal social services, and protection of New York’s cultural and linguistic diversity.

SÁBADO, 3/8: Mujeres inmigrantes protestarán contra medidas anti-inmigratorias de Eric Adams y Donald Trump por Día Internacional de la Mujer
Mediate shows artísticos, mujeres inmigrantes del Fondo de Mujeres Indocumentadas conmemorarán este día. Hablarán sobre cómo les afecta el cierre de los refugios, la regla de lo 60 días, y otros ataque contra inmigrantes en Nueva York.
¿QUÉ?: En conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer Trabajadora, el Fondo de Mujeres Indocumentadas y decenas de organizaciones aliadas realizarán un festival para concienciar sobre los desafíos que enfrentan las mujeres inmigrantes en Nueva York y la importancia esencial de su trabajo. Artistas compartirán su obra relacionada con los derechos de las mujeres y oradoras compartirán sus experiencias organizando comunidades vulnerables. Además, habrá mesas de arte, música y talleres para la elaboración de pañuelos verdes, simbolizando la lucha por los derechos de las mujeres inmigrantes. ¿POR QUÉ?: Por noveno año consecutivo, miembros del Fondo de Mujeres Indocumentadas y organizaciones aliadas (UWF) tomarán las calles de la ciudad de Nueva York para denunciar las peligrosas políticas y discursos antiinmigrantes de Eric Adams y Donald Trump. Bajo el lema “Cuando las mujeres inmigrantes paran, el mundo para con nosotras”, mujeres solicitantes de asilo que viven en albergues de la ciudad hablarán públicamente sobre cómo se ven afectadas por las medidas antiinmigración de Eric Adams, como el cierre de decenas de refugios, la regla de los 30/60 días en los albergues y la falta de capacitación del personal de los albergues para proteger la información personal de los inmigrantes.
