Since 2017 a coalition of feminist, reproductive freedom, housing, immigrant justice, and community organizations—as well as union members, worker centers, worker coops, mutual aid and artist collectives—has been reclaiming the anti-capitalist feminist roots of International Working Women's Day (aka 8M) in NYC. Anchored by the Undocumented Women’s Fund since 2020, we have been taking on the streets through a myriad of ways: marching, picketing, rallying and engaging in public art making.
This year we’re calling on artists, organizations and other community members engaged in struggles at the intersection of gender, class, and immigration to rally around the slogan: When Immigrant Women Stop, the World Stops with Us. The Women's Strike NYC Fest 2025 will be held on Saturday March 8th, 2025 in Maria Hernandez Park in Bushwick Brooklyn. Join us for an afternoon of political education and collective power building through art, music, performance and informational tables with neighbors old and new!

Desde 2017, una coalición de organizaciones comunitarias feministas, de justicia reproductiva, vivienda y justicia para inmigrantes, así como miembras de sindicatos, organizaciones sociales, centros de trabajadoras, cooperativas de trabajadoras, grupos ayuda mutua y colectivos de artistas, han estado recuperando las raíces feministas anticapitalistas del Día Internacional de la Mujer Trabajadora (también conocido como 8M) en la ciudad de Nueva York. The Axes of Struggle
Performances
Every year Women's Strike Fest NYC brings together visual artists and performers for participatory and musical performances. Past performers include: Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Amanecer, Fogo Azul, Al Límite, La China Sonidera, Wawakuna, Tamborellas, Rev Billy & the Stop Shopping Choir, Sing in Solidarity, Renee Goust, Audry Funk, and Las Jaraneras. Stay tuned to hear what performances will be at this year's 8M!
Art Build
This year's art build will take place on March 1st, from 12:30pm-4:30pm at 1002 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn. We encourage you to attend! Past activities include banner making, sign making, paper-making and dyeing from recycled paper, and the creation of the giant octopus puppet. Art collectives involved in the past include: Interference Archive, Chto Delat, Artists for Mutual Aid, NYC Light Brigade.
Political rally
Coalition members from a broad swathe of organizations will be participating and speaking on this year's theme: When immigrant women stop, the world stops with us. Past coalition members include The People's Plan, Laundry Workers Center, Ain't I a Woman Campaign, DSA, Domestic Workers United, NYSNA, Transgrediendo, NY Gender Diversity Coalition, NYTAG, GLITS, MET Council on Housing, Desis Rising up and Moving (DRUM), Freedom to Thrive, and Street Vendors Project
Performances
Cada año, el Festival del Paro de Mujeres de NYC reúne a artistas visuales y performers para presentaciones musicales y participativas. Creación de Arte

The Undocumented Women's Fund
The Undocumented Women’s Fund is a skill-sharing, mutual aid, and resource mobilization project in NYC that assesses the needs of the undocumented community through a gender-aware lens, mobilizes resources to meet those needs, and collectively tackles barriers to access.
Since 2020, we have served as an anchor for the Women's Strike NYC fest and have convened a grassroots feminist coalition in New York City to organize for March 8th.
El Fondo de Mujeres Indocumentadas
El Fondo de Mujeres Indocumentadas es un proyecto de intercambio de habilidades, ayuda mutua y movilización de recursos en la ciudad de Nueva York que evalúa las necesidades de la comunidad indocumentada a través de una perspectiva de género, moviliza recursos para satisfacer esas necesidades y aborda colectivamente las barreras de acceso.
