Associations for American Indian Librarians:
Melody Steiner is a librarian based at a community college in NE Ohio. This project was inspired by the PBS documentary, Free for All: The Public Library, and is an effort to collect stories from the library profession, with a focus on historical figures (1800s - 1930s) in the United States of America. In particular, content related to librarians who are women and biracial, indigenous, people of color, and other historically underrepresented groups are highlighted on this guide.
This resource serves as a launching point for future research and exploration of notable figures in the profession. For any additions within the scope that will enhance the guide's content, contact msteiner[at]lorainccc.edu with a subject line: "Women and BIPOC Guide Suggestion".
