Hi! My name is Kayla (she/her) I am a Full Spectrum Doula, Student Midwife of Homebirth Midwifery, Reproductive Health Mentor, & Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I'm also a parent to two wonderful, beautiful children. I love to keep a high energy, positive outlook on life which I enjoy bringing into the relationships I build with my clients. I decided to become a Doula shortly after my first birth experience, I was offered support from many Doulas & at the time I had no idea what Doulas really did! After watching the very popular documentary "The Business of Being Born" I was highly intrigued, to say the least, at that moment I knew I wanted to be a Doula. Before becoming pregnant with my second baby I knew that planning a Home Birth felt right & when I did become pregnant, I reached out to a Midwife who I had known for many years to begin care with her. I went on to have my baby in the comfort & familiarity of my own Home, surrounded by people I love & trust deeply. That experience is what led me to pursue becoming a Midwife. I have been around pregnancy, birth, babies, & reproductive health experiences my whole life. I was always (& still am) the person friends would come to for sex, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, & birth related questions, so this path just feels so natural to me & I truly feel at home in this role. Education & Advocacy is very important to me when it comes to your Reproductive & Sexual health & is an integrative part of my services. I support all birth plans, pregnancy outcomes & welcome all people. I trained & certified with Doula Trainings International in their Full Spectrum Doula training, have taken additional trainings with: Empty Arms on Accompanying Bereaved Parents & Subsequent Pregnancies, Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts for Sexuality Education, Doula Trainings International for Reproductive Health, Woman's Choice Perinatal Services for Placenta Encapsulation, VBAC Certified Doula through the VBAC Link & have experience as a volunteer on the Postpartum Support International Warmline. I am currently enrolled in the Massachusetts Midwifery Alliance Midwifery Studies Course.
